Last month was a first for me. I decided to post a glance at my monthly lesson plans. I received such positive feedback, I decided to keep posting for my followers!
September is a little weird for us in South Florida. We have 3 days off (today- 9/7, next Monday 9/14, and then the following Wednesday 9/23), so I hope to tackle all that I have planned for the month.
My “Everything You Need! Vocab” packets went over so well the last few weeks with my teachers. I am so excited to continue this throughout the year. Our principal was thrilled to see the rigor of the vocabulary and the collaboration between SLPs and classroom teachers to explicitly instruct vocabulary.
With September, comes Fall (well, for you Northerners anyways!). That won’t stop me from incorporating some fall activities into my lessons.
It’s also Talk Like a Pirate Day (or week for me!!) so I’ll be using my “There was an Old Pirate Who Swallowed a Fish” book companion! The kids will get to feed the pirate! 🙂 I will also use The Peachie Speechie’s Pirate WH- Questions!
In second grade, Tier 2 Vocab it is! Along with continuing the use of my Daily Language Book.
In fifth grade, this month focusing on comprehension and vocab by keeping it simple.
Artic Pull-Out I’m using The Peachie Speechie’s Articulation Apples, my word lists that go with “There was an Old Pirate Who Swallowed a Fish” book companion, Magnified Speech, Candy Corn Challenge, and Articulation Station App.
When I look at it like this, it seems like so much! But, when I’m knee high in the trenches it feels easy!!
Happy Fall Ya’ll
